Why Elon Musk Moved to America

Elon Musk traveled to America for three reasons: 1. to escape conscription into the South African army, which aided the apartheid regime, and 2. to keep up with all the newest technological developments in the United States. He wanted to be a part of it, and 3. In America, the chances of success were better than in South Africa.

All of the innovation takes place in the United States.

Elon Musk was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. He had always been an excellent student and a voracious reader since he was a youngster. He was going through an existential crisis and looking for the meaning of life throughout his teens.

Elon devoured almost every book he could get his hands on. He knew at the time that America was the center of innovation. As a result, he desired to come to America in order to accomplish anything since his options in South Africa were restricted.

“It always looked like anytime there was exciting technology or stuff occurring, it was sort of in the United States,” Elon Musk remarked in a 2012 Kevin Rose interview. So, essentially, my ambition as a youngster was to go to America.”

Elon has been a pioneer since he was a toddler. His family is not impoverished, contrary to common misconception. Elon’s father is a well-known engineer, and the family was wealthy. Elon’s father owned a private jet, and he traveled to various locations with him as a youngster.

Elon was one of the first few persons in South Africa to utilize computers. He created and sold a computer game for $500 when he was 12 years old. As a result, Elon has aspired to invent since he was a youngster. And there is no nation that values innovation and inventors more than America. It’s the main reason Elon Musk relocated to the United States.

Why does Elon Musk despise Mark Zuckerberg?

Apartheid was not something he wanted to be a part of.

America has one of the world’s most enduring constitutions, having lasted more than 200 years. Every American has the right to free expression under the First Amendment. Except for a few countries, no other country grants its people this fundamental right. Even though the South African constitution currently guarantees freedom of expression, there was none while Elon was growing up.

Apartheid was a legal system in South Africa. Every 18 years, a person must enlist in the army. At the time, the government employed this army to oppress the black people. The army was essentially a racist force that was armed to marginalize black people. Elon Musk refused to participate in the conscription process.

As a result, Elon Musk has been attempting to get out of South Africa since he was 16 years old. His parents were divorced at the time, and he was living with his father. Elon attempted to persuade his father to relocate to the United States. His father first consented, but afterwards changed his mind. After that, Elon went to see his mother.

Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, was a naturalized Canadian citizen via his mother. Elon persuaded her mother to relocate from South Africa to Canada, and she accepted.

Elon obtained his Canadian citizenship via his mother, who was a Canadian citizen. As a result, he emigrated to Canada at the age of 17 to escape being conscripted into the South African army.

a large pool of talent

Elon has aspired to innovate since he was a youngster. As a result, he knew he’d bring all of the engineers over there to start a firm that would change the world. Furthermore, America is the destination for all of the world’s top talent. In America, the chances of success are better than in China, India, South Africa, or Europe. It’s why the majority of the world’s big tech businesses are based in the United States. It’s why Elon Musk relocated to the United States.

Entrepreneurial Investor

No other country except for America has a Entrepreneurial Investor culture. These early investors invest in companies that don’t even have a product. They hear ideas and invest in companies. These investors are risk-takers.

Each year, these investors invest billions of dollars in various companies. Some companies become successful, and some don’t. It’s why those investors are called Entrepreneurial Investors.

Creating any successful big business needs a lot of money. Only in America these types of investments and capital are available. India, China, UAE, South Africa, France, Germany, England, or any other country we name it, don’t have this type of Entrepreneurial Investor culture.

Elon Musk’s tax evasion: Why Doesn’t He Pay Taxes?

As a result, anybody serious in developing world-changing technologies and goods must come to America to succeed. Elon Musk has known about it since he was a teenager. It was for this reason that he want to see America.

He was seeking for a way into America even after he went to Canada. As a result, he was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania and relocated to the United States. He proceeded to Stanford after finishing his undergraduate degree.

He did not, however, finish his schooling. As soon as he received the opportunity to start Zip2, he put his Ph.D. on hold.

Therefore, Elon Musk moved to America because he knew about the Entrepreneurial Investor culture where investors invest in cutting-edge technology, which was not present in South Africa or any other country.

It is simple to do business.

America is one of the finest places to start a company and expand. There is no corruption, extortion, or usual white-collar government criminality that hampers and prohibits private enterprises like it does in other nations.

The United States of America is one of the most business-friendly nations in the planet. The American people are wealthy, and they value high-quality goods. If a product is of high quality, it will sell on its own.

America developed the radio, television, cell phone, internet, GPS, automobile, Google, Facebook, and practically all contemporary technology. However, without adequate intellectual property (IP) rights and protection, an innovation is nothing.

America has one of the world’s strongest intellectual property laws, which protects creators. As a result, the original innovators may sell and profit from their creations.

In some nations, there is practically no protection for innovators, or the rules are too confusing and convoluted. China, for example, does not respect intellectual property and deliberately takes IP from other nations.

Elon Musk was well aware that the United States has a culture of invention and strong laws protecting entrepreneurs. Furthermore, Americans have the financial means to fund these advances. It was for this reason that he relocated to the United States.
